CHRYSALIDA

Chrysalida is a series of negative photographs painted with golden oils and mounted on handcrafted gold leaf frames. It reflects on change from within — the emotional, mental, and even physical transformation that we humans experience at certain moments in our lives. To show it in negative is to reveal what lies inside, since the origin of true change always begins within, in that place we cannot see but where we all imagine ourselves unfolding our wings.

An Alter Ego in the form of mythological beings who dream of taking flight once their transformation is complete.

Chrysallis comes from Greek, meaning “golden color,” and refers to the golden chrysalides of certain butterflies.

Each piece 100×100 cm.
